If you’re like me, then you rarely plan ahead for holidays. I love to imagine having all the Christmas gifts ordered and wrapped ahead of time, but let’s be real. Amazon Prime is my best friend. However, for once I’m ahead of the curve. Honestly, Target deserves all the credit. I happened to be walking through for the upteenth time this past week and realized I hit the dollar spot (also known as the “thirty dollar spot”) jackpot. Each store’s selection varies, but hopefully you can find a few of the items I found. I’m proud of the toddler-approved Easter basket I’ve put together – all for under $12!
First, let’s talk about the basket itself. I picked it up 70% off after Easter last year. Here’s a similar one. I should also note that I’m notorious for shopping post-holiday sales, but often forgetting I bought the thing for the following year. I’ve actually been using the basket as storage in my craft room, so it was too obvious to forget. I whipped out my Cricut and added H’s name with heat transfer vinyl (HTV). I think the basket and personalization all cost under $3.
We’re on a bit of a bubble kick lately, so naturally bubbles found their way into my shopping cart. I found this pack of Finding Dory bubbles (perfectly sized for on the go entertainment) and this larger bunny version. $2 for both.
Stickers are also a huge hit around our house. H loves to put them all over herself! I found this Dr. Seuss repositionable sticker mat ($1) and these window clings ($1). The Dr. Seuss stickers are perfect for throwing in the diaper bag, and the window clings… well, I’m sure they’ll end up everywhere except the windows ;).
Of course, I had to get a few things for her to wear. These adorable bunny ears were just too cute to pass up. Hopefully she wears them long enough to get a picture (oh, the struggle). I also found a pack of Finding Dory socks and a tee shirt. The tee shirt wasn’t from the Dollar Spot, but it was only $2.50 (originally $7.99) from the toddler section. I don’t think this is online, but I found a similar one here. Note: I finally watched the movie while H napped last weekend. That may have sparked the Dory obsession. I may have also cried a bit more than planned. I can’t wait until she’s old enough to sit and watch. I also have to note that I’m not usually a fan of character shirts…but these guys are just too cute. Oh, and the best part…all this gear cost less than $5!
I may add in a snack or two (her current favorite are crackers), but in the meantime, I’m pretty happy with how this basket turned out. Plus, it was all under $12! Run, don’t walk to your nearest Target Dollar Spot!
Don’t forget to come back here and show me what you found! Happy hunting!
